Did You Know
Orange Motichoor Ladoo are sweet treats that first came from Bhopal, a city in India. A man named Motichoor made them in his little sweet shop around the late 1800s.
He played around with ingredients until he found a mix that worked. He used besan, a type of flour, to make small balls. He fried them and then soaked them in sugary syrup. People liked them so much that they started calling them "Motichoor Ke Ladoo," after the guy who made them.
These ladoos got famous in the northern part of India and then spread to other places. Even though the recipe has changed a bit over time, the main idea of making small, fried balls from besan has stuck.
